Lawrence School Budget Passes; Feldhamer, Blachorsky Make BOE

Voters have decided on the proposed 2015-16 budget.

Lawrence residents voted to approve the proposed $98.56 million budget Tuesday 1,139-376 votes.

The budget includes a 3.08 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.5 percent tax levy increase.

Abel Feldhamer defeated Matthew Russo for a seat on the Board of Education with 1,299 and 641 votes, respectively. Heshy Blachorsky garnered 1,281 votes and defeated Asher Matathias, who earned 407 votes.
