Núñez Declared Winner In 14th District
Núñez currently sits on the Valley Stream School Board, and lists affordability as the most pressing issue facing her future constituents

VALLEY STREAM, NY. — With 8,313 votes to her name, or 54.18 percent of all votes cast in the race, unofficial tallies have Valley Stream resident Cynthia Núñez the winner in Nassau County Legislature’s 14th district.
Núñez was facing Sheharyar Ali in the election race tuesday, saying in a pre-election profile that she wanted to bring accountability and transparency to the role. The Democrat added that she supports microloans to help small businesses and local tax incentives in the same profile.
Ali, running on the Republican and Conservative party lines, received 6,497 votes in the race, or 43.82 percent of all votes cast.

Results in the election are unofficial until certified by the County Board of Elections. Further information on all of Tuesday’s elections can be found through the Nassau County Board of Elections and the New York State Board of Elections.
