One-Car Derailment Causes Far Rockaway Branch Suspension: MTA
It happened at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FAR ROCKAWAY, NY — The Far Rockaway LIRR branch was back to normal by late Thursday morning.
A partial train derailment on Wednesday evening led to a suspension east of Valley Stream.
The derailment happened at around 6:30 p.m., as the lead car of an eastbound train derailed entering the Far Rockaway station, the MTA said.

"There were 50 customers onboard the train, with no reported injuries. The cause is under investigation, which is in preliminary stages as LIRR crews respond," the MTA's Michael Cortez said in a statement.
The MTA was running trains both ways from the western terminals and Valley Stream.
