Overnight Lane Closures Expected On Stretch Of Hempstead Tpke
The road work is expected to take three weeks to complete.

ELMONT, NY — Drivers should be aware of road work on Hempstead Turnpike that is expected to last three weeks.
Construction is expected to close one lane in either direction from the Cross Island Parkway to Munson Avenue, the state Department of Transportation said.
Pavement repairs are scheduled to begin on Sunday night, Oct. 31. It is expected to run nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

Drivers should follow the instructions for their safety and those of the highway crew. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, the DOT said.
Electronic message boards have been posted near the work zone and will provide updated information.
