Teen Killed, 2 Others Injured In Southern State Parkway Crash: Police

A Southern State Parkway crash early Saturday killed an 18-year-old and injured two other teens.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Authorities are investigating a Southern State Parkway crash that killed an 18-year-old and two other teens over the weekend.

New York State Police responded to the deadly crash around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Authorities say three 18-year-olds were heading westbound on the Southern State Parkway when the car they were in left the roadway and struck a bridge embankment. The driver was injured and taken to Nassau University Medical Hospital, while the front-seat passenger was transported to Winthrop Hospital. The back-seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
