Connolly Elementary School Welcomes New Principal

She most recently worked as a principal at a New York City school.

When elementary students at Connolly School in Glen Cove embark on the new school year in September they will be greeted by the building’s new principal, Julie Mullan.

Mullan most recently served as principal of P.S. 102 Jacques Cartier School in New York City. She also served as assistant principal and resident principal at P.S. 98 Shorac Kappock Elementary School. In addition to her administrative experience, Mullan spent seven years as a general education teacher, teaching pre-K, kindergarten and first grade at P.S./M.S. 029 Melrose School.

A Massapequa resident, Mullan has a Master of Science in special education (birth-grade 2) and literary studies (birth-grade 6) from Hofstra University, and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and history.

She also holds New York State professional certifications in early childhood education (birth-grade 2), childhood education (grades 1-6), literacy (birth-grade 6), special education (birth-grade 2) and as a school building leader.

Mullan is looking forward to meeting and fostering relationships with all the Connolly School students and their families.

"I’m excited to work with the school community to continue the tradition of high expectations for our students and ensuring that all learners are ready for the next step in their educational journey," Mullan said.
