When someone shows signs of dementia, "a family needs to address the changes that are happening to their loved one," Alaina Nathan says.
GLEN COVE, NY — Navigating symptoms of dementia can be challenging for families, so help in that a local advocacy group is partnering with the Glen Cove Library to offer a discussion in January.
The Melville-based Long Island Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will present “Dementia Conversations” on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
The program will provide tips for families to address some of the most common issues that are difficult to discuss, such as going to a doctor for a diagnosis, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans for future care.
