Election Day 2024: Suozzi Vs. LiPetri For 3rd Congressional Seat

GLEN COVE, NY — Election Day is Nov. 5 and Tom Suozzi seeks a return to the 3rd Congressional District. The Democratic incumbent is opposed by Mike LiPetri.

Suozzi won a special election in February to fill the seat held by George Santos and with it, Suozzi flipped the seat back to blue.

As Suozzi, 62, said in response to our Patch Candidate Profile, why he's seeking another term in Congress:

"As a common-sense Democrat, I share the values of most people on Long Island and in Queens and stand with them by working across party lines for common-sense solutions – from strengthening our border to reinstating the SALT deduction, to protecting our air and water. I’ll always reject extremism and work to find solutions that make a difference for Nassau families."

LiPetri, 34, a former Assemblyman, said about his campaign:

"It’s time for next-generation common sense leadership to be our voice. I have skin in the game and my future is right here on Long Island. This is personal."

Suozzi previously represented residents of the 3rd District from 2017-2023.
