Glen Cove Man Hit, Killed By Car While Crossing Street
The 62-year-old man was walking against the light when he was hit by a car, police said. He died at a hospital.

GLEN COVE, NY — A Glen Cove man was hit by a car and killed over the weekend as he crossed a street.
Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the 62-year-old man was crossing at the intersection of Pratt Boulevard and Bridge Street when he was hit by a car, Glen Cove police said. The pedestrian was walking against the traffic light at the time he was hit.
The man was rushed to Glen Cove Hospital with head and body injuries and was declared dead a short time later by emergency hospital staff. His name is being withheld until his family can be notified.

The 73-year-old driver, also a Glen Cove resident, stayed at the scene and was not charged with a crime, police said.
