Glen Cove Students and Seniors Read
Landing Elementary students spent time reading with adults from Glen Cove Senior Center.

Submitted by Glen Cove City School District
Glen Cove students in Landing Elementary School spent time reading with adults from Glen Cove Senior Center during the school’s Senior Volunteer Program.
The weekly program, which gathers students with senior citizens for approximately 45 minutes, allows participants an opportunity to get to know one another while reading and completing word searches and crossword puzzles. Fourth grade teachers Maria DePace and Susan Fiumara coordinate the program and said it offers students a nice opportunity to interact with elderly members of the community.
