Glen Floors' Bill Capobianco, 'Effervescent Part Of Glen Cove' Dies
The Capobianco family has owned Glen Floors in Glen Cove for 91 years. Friends and family remember "a quintessential giver of kindness."

GLEN COVE, NY —Bill Capobianco, a member of the family that has operated Glen Floors in Glen Cove for over nine decades, died on Monday, the business shared on social media.
Capobianco was 78. His family established Glen Floors in Glen Cove in 1932. In 2021, the New York State Senate formally honored the long-standing family business on its 90th anniversary.
The Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) remembered Capobianco.

"It is with deep sadness that the Glen Cove Downtown BID has learned of the loss of Bill Capobianco of Glen Floors. I will always remember Bill with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eyes and a joke ready to be heard. He was always so kind and ready to lead a helping hand. We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of such a wonderful man."

Glen Floors announced the news and asked that any donations be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America or the University of Michigan ALS Center of Excellence.
"It is in sorrow that we share the news of our dear friend, brother and business partner, William (Bill) Capobianco’s passing. He was an effervescent part of Glen Floors and the Glen Cove community. A quintessential giver of kindness with a joke at every turn. We will remember him with a smile on our faces and a chuckle in our hearts."
The carpet and flooring business will close on Friday and Saturday during the funeral services.
Capobianco was a "beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend," his son Anthony Capobianco wrote.
