7 Long Island Hospitals Make New National Ranking

LONG ISLAND, NY — Seven Long Island hospitals have been ranked the best in New York in a new report from Newsweek.

North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset is the number 4 top-ranked hospital in New York in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

Other Long Island hospitals, listed in ranked order, include:

• 5. Long Island Jewish Medical Center - New Hyde Park
• 7. Stony Brook University Hospital - Stony Brook
• 9. Glen Cove Hospital - Glen Cove
• 11. Northwell Health - Mather Hospital - Port Jefferson
• 13. Huntington Hospital - Huntington
• 25. St. Charles Hospital - Port Jefferson

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

• The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
• Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
• Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
