$1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Sold In Harlem

HARLEM, NY — A Brooklyn man walked out of a Harlem corner store $1 million richer last week after he fulfilled every New Yorker's dream come true: winning the scratch-off lottery.

Rodney Henderson, of Brooklyn, will be payed out nearly $1 million over 20 years — the top prize for the Strike it Rich! scratch-off game, according to the New York Lottery.

Henderson bought the lucky ticket at 477 Food on Malcolm X Boulevard and West 134th Street.

Now, he'll see over $30,000 added to his bank account over 20 years, according to the New York Lottery.

Since Henderson's win, a Bronx-based LLC got exactly three times as lucky with a wining scratch-off ticket worth $3 million.

Henderson got lucky, but he's not the only one who took a shot. Lottery representatives said scratch-off games alone generated $4,406,338,198 in sales from 2022-2023.
