Man Dies In Harlem Double Shooting, Police Say

A 30-year-old man was killed and a man in his 20s was hurt during a shooting on West 143rd Street and Lenox Avenue.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is hunting a gunman who killing a man in Harlem over the weekend, police said.

Two men were shot early Saturday morning on West 143rd Street and Lenox Avenue across the street from Harlem's Colonel Charles Young Playground, police said. When officers arrived on the scene just before 1 a.m., they found a 26-year-old suffering from gunshots to his left foot and right elbow and a 30-year-old suffering from gunshots to his torso, police said.

Medics rushed both victims to Harlem Hospital where the 30-year-old was pronounced dead and the other man was treated in stable condition, police said. Police later identified the victim who died as Giovanni Otho.

Police made no arrests at the scene and could not provide a physical description of a suspect. The shooting remains under investigation, an NYPD spokesperson said.
