Man's Body Found Floating In Harlem River: Police

HARLEM, NY — A body was found floating in the Harlem River Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The man, who police said had yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boats from the NYPD harbor unit began searching the waters near 103rd Street and FDR Drive at about 3:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a person in the water, a police spokesperson told Patch.

Officers found the person, a 63-year-old man, and rushed him to the nearby Randall's Island dock, where medics pronounced him dead, officials said.

While police said the medical examiner has yet to release an official cause of death, there is no suspected criminality in connection to the still unidentified man.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
