Man's Death In Harlem Street Ruled Homicide Months Later: NYPD

Charles Cunningham was found unresponsive in Harlem in April. His death was ruled a homicide on Wednesday, police said.

HARLEM, NY — Months after a man was found dying in an East Harlem Street, his death was ruled a homicide, police said on Wednesday.

Charles Cunningham, 63, was found on the corner of East 105th Street and Fifth Avenue just before midnight on April 20, police said.

Medics rushed Cunningham to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, but doctors couldn't save his life and he died the next day, police said.

Cunningham had been attacked by another man who had fled, NYPD said.

The attack was deemed a homicide on Wednesday but no arrests had been made.

Cunningham lived in East Harlem, about eight blocks north of where his body was found, police said.
