A motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and then hit by a driver on the highway near West 139th Street in Harlem.
HARLEM, NY — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night after crashing into an SUV on a Harlem stretch of the Henry Hudson Parkway, an NYPD spokesman said.
The 36-year-old motorcyclist was driving south on the Henry Hudson Parkway shortly after 8 p.m. with a 47-year-old female passenger when the bike collided with a 2018 Toyota Sienna minivan, police said. Police described the initial crash as "minor," but said the collision caused the motorcyclist and his passenger to fall to the ground.
After the motorcycle driver fell to the ground, he was struck by an oncoming black 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV, police said. Medics pronounced the motorcycle driver, who was not identified, dead at the scene, police said.
