Popular Harlem Seafood Spot LoLo's To Close After 10 Years
LoLo's Seafood Shack will be closing at the end of February because their lease is up and can't be renewed, the restaurant said.

HARLEM, NY — A Harlem seafood spot will close its doors next month a decade after opening, according to the restaurant.
LoLo's Seafood Shack announced on their Instagram that they will be closing their location at 303 West 116th St. in February.
"Thanks for the LoLo's love!" the post read. "It has been our honour to serve our neighbors in Harlem + our extended community over the last decade."

One fan begged for the seafood spot to reverse course, writing "please reconsider as your restaurant has been a staple for so long and we need more long term Black owned businesses in Harlem."
But it seems it wasn't LoLo's decision.

In responding to the comment, LoLo's said that their lease was up "and evidently it's unable to be renewed."
Restaurateur Leticia Young opened LoLo's with her husband, chef Raymond Mohan, in 2014 and has served a mashup of Cape Cod and Caribbean seafood since.
In 2018, Eater called LoLo's Spicy Crab as "clutch" outdoor summer eating, while also giving high marks for their jerk chicken cooked over Jamaican bayberries, which had "a deeper layer of smoke that one often encounters at some of the better known shops in Brooklyn."
LoLo's also has a location at Market 57, the James Beard food hall on Pier 57, near West 15th Street, called LoLo's on the Water.
