HHS Presents Art Exhibition Tonight

The Harrison High School Art Department will be presenting its fifth annual student exhibition of advanced art work tonight.

The Harrison High School Art Department is proud to present the fifth annual Student Exhibition of Advanced Art Work this Friday, Feb. 11 at the Louis M. Klein Middle School from 6 - 7:30 pm.

Come and view intricate paintings, sketches, photography and ceramics by students from both HHS and LMK. Music will be provided by the LMK Strings Ensemble.

This year the art department will be highlighting the works of Anne Lysonski. Anne, currentlya freshman fashion design major at Pratt Institute, is the Class of 2010 Senior Art AchievementAward winner. Her work has been included in “The Creative Art Project Exhibit and Auction” at theKrgin Gallery in Rye, the “Youth Art Month Exhibit” sponsored by the Harrison Council of Arts, and the “Student Studio: Emerging High School Talent Exhibit” at the Rye Arts Center.

As a high school student, Anne completed a sequence in the visual arts, studying a wide range oftopics. Anne always had a passion for fashion, motivating her to take sewing classes to assist her in the production of her own original designs. As a student in Pratt’s Fashion Design Department, Anne is gaining a string background in pattern drafting, draping, construction and sketching. Pratt students are also required to take a computer-aided fashion sketching class, where they learn the latest technologyused in the fashion industry.

The exhibit will also spotlight the works of “Students To Watch”. Some of the students whose work will be on display are Roi Ankawa, Isamar Barragan, Ardita Berisha, Lexi Backer, Alexa Basciano, LeilaniBrennan, Immy Caird, Monique Cardoso, Elizabeth Crozier, Suellen DaSilva, Elissa DelliPaoli, Allie Fuller,Lesley Greenspan, Elizabeth Gomez, Claudia Gonclaves, Jackie Hart, Olivia Hymowitz, Jillian Lavin, AlyssaLoffredo, Troy McIver, Alison Midollo, Alexandra Misisco, Jailenn Morel, Mizuho Notsu, Ariadne Rentz,Samantha Rhodes, Samantha Russo, Sofia SanMarco, Ga Won Song, Christine Suozzo, Atitaya Tauthong,Alijah Webb and David Wolfe.
