Police: West Harrison Man Charged With DWI
Harrison police say a 23-year-old resident was driving drunk on the morning of April 10.

Police have charged a 23-year-old West Harrison man with driving while intoxicated after they say he almost caused numerous accidents while driving on Lake Street in the early morning hours of April 10.
Police say they attempted to pull over Michael Coppa at about 3 a.m. after he crossed the double yellow line on Lake Street while pulling out of a parking lot in the area. According to police Coppa picked up speed, nearly hitting the police cruiser and several cars parked in the area. Police pursued Coppa until he pulled into his driveway on Beechwood Avenue.
According to his arrest report Coppa smelled heavily of alcohol and was struggling to communicate with police. Coppa was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving along with several other summonses. He is due in court April 26.

A woman told police someone stole her bike from an area near the Harrison Train Station on April 11. The woman said the bike was locked when she left it, but someone managed to steal it while she was gone.
The woman said she would like to pursue charges if an arrest is made.

A man who lives on Old Well Road told police that someone had damaged his mailbox, leaving it hanging from its hinges while he wasn't home on April 12. Police have no witnesses at this time.
Harrison Man Caught With Crack Residue, Police SayA 50-year-old Harrison man faces a misdemeanor charge after police say he had crack residue in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Harrison Avenue on April 14.
According to police Andrew Maucieri was pulled over at about 6 p.m. on Harrison Avenue near the I-95 overpass. During a police interview police say Maucieri admitted to having "paraphernalia" in his vehicle.
Police report finding two rubber pipes and two glass pipes with burned crack residue in the center console of Maucieri's vehicle. Also found was a pair of tweezers with traces of what police believe to be crack residue.
Maucieri was transported to were he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance — a misdemeanor — and cited for driving without a license or registration. He is due in court May 3.
