Recreation All-Stars Tip-Off County Basketball Tournament
Harrison boys go 4-0 in first round action.
Harrison boys recreation basketball enjoyed a great start to the county basketball tournament, going 4-0 in the first round of action Monday evening at the Westchester County Center.
The four Harrison boys teams of various age groups were selected as all-stars from local leagues for the single-elimination tournament. The girls teams will start their games tomorrow.
In the 19-team Boys Cub Recreation League, Harrison Silver defeated Eastchester Red 33-28 and will advance to take on the winner of Peekskill and Rye Brook on March 21 at 5 p.m. On the other side of that bracket, Harrison Maroon defeated Ossining Blue 29-28 and will advance to take on the Eastchester Blue, Mt. Pleasant winner on March 21 at 6 p.m.

In the 16-team Midget Recreation Boys League Harrison Silver defeated Pound Ridge 61-9 and will advance to face the winner of Ossining White and Peekskill on March 21 at 6 p.m. Also in that bracket, Harrison Maroon defeated Mt. Pleasant 50-31 and will advance to take on Shrub Oak on March 21 at 8 p.m.
On the girls side Harrison will play Rye Recreation Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the six-team Midget Recreation League, while in the Cub Recreation League Harrison Maroon and Harrison Silver also play at 4 p.m.
