Here are the top three stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:
- DUMBO's apartments and condos are filling up fast; according to StreetEasy data there are only 6 to 16 units available in the tiny neighborhood. As this article writes, "DUMBO means luxury." Apparently, the pandemic has led to higher demand for luxury housing throughout the city. Maybe the new Olympia tower will help to quell some of that demand. (New York Post )
- Here's a little-known secret about Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO: the park at the River Café is actually public, although it's maintained by the restaurant, and is separately operated from Brooklyn Bridge Park. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
- Thursday we reported that hundreds (if not thousands) of public school students walked out of their classes demanding a remote option during the omicron surge. On Thursday Adams indicated that he was open to that possibility, and said he is working with the teacher's union to hash out a plan. (New York City Patch)
