Advisory Against Bathing Issued At 35 Suffolk Beaches
The advisory was issued due to the heavy rainfall.

An advisory against bathing has been issued for 35 Suffolk County beaches on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall.
Suffolk County Department of Health Services says these areas are heavily influenced by stormwater runoff, which can impact bathing water quality by elevating bacteria levels and exceed the the New York State standard for bathing water quality.
Bathing will be suspended for at least 24 hours unless there is more heavy rainfall or if water samples reveal elevated bacterial levels, health officials say.
