Melville Stabbing Leaves Woman Injured, Suspect Still At Large: Police

Suffolk County police say the stabbing happened during a dispute between two people who knew each other.

MELVILLE, NY — Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night in Melville, police said.

According to police, the incident happened on Dec. 16 at approximately 8 p.m. during a dispute between two people known to each other. During the altercation, a man stabbed a woman, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and later released, police said.

The male suspect fled the scene and is still being sought, according to police. The investigation remains ongoing.
