Bicyclist Critically Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police

The man was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a pickup truck, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A bicyclist was critically injured after he was hit by a pickup truck in Huntington on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Adam Siepel, 50, of Huntington, was riding his bicycle on New York Avenue and Gristmill Lane when he was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet pickup traveling northbound on New York Avenue at 3:10 p.m., police said.

Siepel was taken to Huntington Hospital in critical condition. The pickup driver, a 52-year-old Huntington man, was not injured, police said.

The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
