Event: Managing Family Stress During the Holidays

Description: Holidays are often an exciting time of the year. Spending time with family, enjoying time off work, and celebrating with family traditions are just some of the enjoyable holiday activities. However, the holidays also can represent added stress due to the strain on your time and wallet. Join us to talk about some ideas on how to handle the stress of the holidays, simplify your days, and still have time to enjoy your family and the holidays. Description: "It’s a Wonderful Life," 1943, PG, 141 minutes.
An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. Registration suggested and open to all.
Event: 5th Annual Great Cookie Exchange
Location: Main Meeting Room

Time: 6:30 p.m.
Description: Join us for another year of our Great Community Cookie Exchange! Please bring two dozen, or more, of your favorite signature cookies or dessert bars to share. Please email your recipes to donna_mazovec@huntlib.org or submit them in person at the Adult Reference Desk by Dec. 1 so that we can make copies for everyone at the event. Submissions will also be included in our Community Dessert Recipe Book. Prizes will be awarded for Most Unique, Prettiest and Best-Tasting! We will also serve hot cocoa and cider. Take home boxes will be supplied. May not be suitable for individuals with allergies. Registration required. Open to all.

Event: European Holiday Markets with the Savvy Sightseer

Description: Call it Marché de Noël, Weihnachtsmarkt, Kerstmarkt or plain old Christmas Market, holiday vendors take up residence in towns all over the world during the holiday season. Join Jeanne Schnupp and take a tour to visit some of the best holiday markets in Europe; all centered on the same theme, but each dramatically different! Registration required and open to all.

Time: 2 p.m.
Description: Paul will display and discuss nine different holiday plants, including different varieties of pointsettias, a Christmas Cactus, Norfolk Island Pine, some evergreens, and more. The best soil, fertilizer, watering techniques, and how to care for the plants will be covered. The program will conclude with a plant raffle with seven chances to win!
