Event: Tai Chi with Joseph Panico
Location: Main Auditorium
Dates: Saturdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28 (four sessions)
Time: 10 – 11 a.m.
Description: Tai Chi is a Chinese form of exercise that helps reduce tension, improve balance, and increase vitality. It incorporates breathing with slow and fluid movements, emphasizing correct posture and body mechanics. By placing our mind on our movements, we start to learn how to control ourselves. Registration required and open to all. This series of four sessions has a $20 fee.

Event: Yoga for Osteoporosis with Danielle Tarantola
Location: Main Auditorium
Dates: Wednesdays, Sept. 11, 18, 25; Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30 (seven sessions)
Time: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Description: Join Yoga Therapist Danielle Tarantola for this traditional yoga practice which promotes bone and muscle strength, develops awareness of your movements, helps connect to and strengthen your center of gravity, keeps you steady and balanced, and cares for your
back by encouraging better posture, so there's less pressure on the joints. This course will focus on hips, wrists, legs and spine, which are the bones prone to breakage, as well as reduce stress, which releases hormones that contribute to systemic deterioration. Registration required. Open to all. This series of seven sessions has a $35 fee.
Event: Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do When Disaster Strikes

Description: The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. The training course is an introduction to preparing for a natural or man-made disaster and will advise you on how to properly develop a family emergency plan and stock up on emergency supplies. Event: Stretch, Strength and Balance with Jolie
Location: Main Auditorium
Dates: Thursdays, Sept. 12, 19, 26; Oct. 10, 17 (five sessions)
Time: 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.
Description: Join yoga instructor and NASM certified personal trainer Jolie Bosjnak for this fitness class that will get you moving and having fun, while also helping you stretch and improve your strength and balance. Participants should be able to stand on their own without any aid and walk without any assistance for this fitness class. Please bring a yoga/exercise mat and a strap to class. Registration required and open to all. This series of 5 sessions has a $25 fee.
Event: Investment Solutions for Your Retirement: Riding Out Market Volatility

Description: Join James Coll, an adjunct professor at Hofstra University and Nassau Community College for a non-partisan discussion about the presidency.
