Forbes: Cold Spring Harbor Among Most Expensive Zip Codes in the Country

The Huntington hamlet ranked in the list of America's Most Expensive Zip Codes.

Forbes has revealed its list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes for 2014, and the list includes several North Hemsptead communities.

Of the 500 most expensive zip codes, Cold Spring Harbor (11724) ranked 280 with a median home price of $1,228,461 and an average of 138 days on the market. Nearby, Oyster Bay (11771), ranked 216, with a median home price of $1,371,827 and an average of 197 days on the market.

According to Forbes, its annual list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes is based on data from Altos Research, a Mountain View, California-based real estate analysis firm.

For this ranking, Altos calculated the median home prices for more than 28,500 U.S. ZIP codes (covering 95% of the U.S. population) using asking prices for single-family homes and condominiums listed for sale.
