Harborfields Appoints 2 New School District Administrators
The district appointed an executive director for human resources at Harborfields School District and assistant principal at the high school.

GREENLAWN, NY — Two new administrators were appointed by the Harborfields Board of Education, the school district announced Thursday.
Milton Josephs was appointed executive director for human resources at Harborfields School District, while Jennifer Maichin was appointed assistant principal of Harborfields High School.
Both appointments were approved at the board's regular meeting on June 11. Josephs and Maichin are set to assume their roles on July 1.

Josephs brings a "diverse and robust background" in both corporate and educational human resources to Harborfields, the school district wrote. He currently serves as program coordinator for Human Resources at Nassau BOCES. In this role, he oversees human resources operations and ensures compliance with labor laws, civil service regulations, and New York State Education Department mandates. In addition to his expertise in human resources operations, Josephs is recognized for his leadership in professional development, strategic staffing, and the effective use of technology to streamline systems and improve efficiency, the district wrote.
"I’m thrilled to join the Harborfields Central School District, where the commitment to 'Each Child, Each Day, One Harborfields Family’ truly resonates with me," Josephs said in a news release. "I’m looking forward to supporting the incredible staff by building strong relationships and making sure every employee feels valued."

Josephs's career in education spans several roles. He previously worked as an assistant director
of special education in the Levittown Union Free School District; and as an assistant principal in
both the Levittown UFSD (2018-2020) and the New York City Department of Education. He began his educational career in the classroom, teaching special education at PS209Q in New York City. Before entering the field of education, Josephs worked in corporate Human Resource Management and Training.
Josephs holds a bachelor’s degree in business and finance and human resources management
from the University of North London, a master’s of education from Queens College, and school
building leader and school district leader certifications from Stony Brook University.
"Mr. Josephs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Office of Human Resources at Harborfields," Rory Manning, superintendent, stated. "I am looking forward to collaborating with him to support our amazing students and staff."
Maichin brings her "extensive experience" in public education, having served Mineola Public Schools as a special education teacher, instructional leader, program developer, and most recently, an assistant principal, the district wrote. Additionally, she teaches in the educational technology graduate program at Long Island University as an adjunct professor.
Throughout her career, Maichin has demonstrated a "strong ability to empower educators, foster innovation, and promote academic success at all levels," the district stated.
"I am honored to join the Harborfields community as the high school’s assistant principal," Maichin said. "The district’s commitment to excellence, student-centered learning, and inclusive practices deeply aligns with my own belief that every student deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. I look forward to partnering with students, families and staff, to ensure every learner thrives."
Maichin holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY Cortland, a master’s of special education from the College of New Rochelle, a School Building Leader certification from Adelphi University, and a School District Leader certification from Queens College.
"We welcome Mrs. Maichin as she joins an already outstanding faculty at Harborfields High School," Manning said. "Her demonstrated leadership and student-centered mindset will be an asset to our programs for the coming school year and beyond."
