Harlem Globetrotters Visit Plainview Middle School

Plainview-Old Bethpage (POB) School District’s Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently welcomed the Harlem Globetrotters to teach fifth and sixth grade students ways to reduce bullying. The Globetrotters coordinated with the National Campaign to Stop Violence (NCSV) to discuss Action, Bravery, Compassion and the tools students can use to support one another during their “The ABC’s of Bullying” program. Students learned what it means to be part of a team while enjoying the Globetrotters signature ball handling skills and humor. The visiting member of the Harlem Globetrotter team serves as a positive role model for the students, who learn valuable lessons in character, empathy and making a difference.
