Homeless Man Burglarizes Huntington Station Church: Police
The man broke a stained glass window and stole cash and checks on Tuesday morning, police say.
A homeless man was arrested for burglarizing a Huntington Station church on Tuesday morning, police say.
According to authorities, 48-year-old Julio Lebron entered Saint Hugh of Lincoln, located at 21 East 9th St., through a stained glass window and stole cash and checks at 2:35 a.m. Lebron then fled and boarded a westbound Long Island Rail Road train toward Penn Station, police say.
He was seen by a MTA police officer acting suspicious on the train at approximatley 5:30 a.m., police say. The officer notified his supervisor and partner, who met them in Penn Station.

An investigation revealed Lebron was responsible for the church burglary, police say. He was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary. He will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
