Huntington Housing Coalition Names New President To Advance Affordable Projects

HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Township Housing Coalition has named Hunter Gross as its new president, the organization said Friday. Gross, who previously served in the role, returns to lead the nonprofit’s advocacy efforts around expanding housing options across the Town of Huntington.

Outgoing president Roger Weaving will remain in leadership as vice president, continuing his work on promoting safe, attainable, and affordable housing in the township, officials said.

“I’m honored to return as president of HTHC and work closely with the Town Board and residents to drive housing solutions that matter,” Gross said in a statement. He noted the coalition’s priorities include expanding accessory dwelling units, supporting starter-home development, advancing transit-oriented housing, hosting a Huntington Housing Summit, and ensuring progress on the Melville Town Center project.

In a statement, the coalition’s steering committee said the organization is “proud to welcome Hunter as president and Roger as vice president,” adding that both leaders bring experience and a strong commitment to developing “practical, community-supported housing solutions that make a real difference for residents.”

The Huntington Township Housing Coalition is a nonprofit advocacy group focused on expanding affordable rental and homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. The organization works with public and private partners to assess local housing needs, educate residents, and promote new and rehabilitated housing options.
