Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival 2018

The Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival, the world's largest offshore music festival, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The festival was canceled last year due to ongoing restoration work. The lighthouse reopened this summer and the festival will continue.

According to the festival's website, the event brings in more than 1,000 boats and 10,000 attendees who travel to the lighthouse by yacht, boat, kayak and other forms of water transportation. Boaters come from New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Jersey to attend the festival.

The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to dusk. Rain date is Sept. 2.

The lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been a trusted navigational aid to mariners, a landmark for the community and an educational resource for visitors for more than a century.
