HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — The Town of Huntington cut the ribbon on the newly-replaced elevator on the north side of the Huntington Station LIRR station on Friday, the town announced.

The elevator had been inoperable off and on for many years, the town wrote.

"It was only after Supervisor Smyth’s Administration received notification by the elevator service company that the elevator was potentially dangerous to use was it finally repaired," the town stated. "It was the Smyth Administration that took the elevator out of service until it could be fully replaced."
