Janet Milanese, associate vice president for nursing at Huntington Hospital, was nominated as a local hero during the coronavirus outbreak.

SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Her dedication, her compassion, her professionalism and her deep sense of caring for her patients and the community make her a leader that all of her nurses can look up to especially during this terrible time. We are all grateful for her service."
