Nurse Who 'Seamlessly Manages Issues': Centerport Hero

CENTERPORT, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Susan Howard, of Centerport, who nominated her daughter and fellow Centerport resident Nicole Probst.

Advanced care practitioner, wound and ostomy nurse; educator to nursing/ancillary staff.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

"Modeling compassionate/expert care as she interacts with staff and patients is her forte; whether she is assisting COVID code teams on the front lines by sharing information with family members, or directly caring for the COVID patient herself, she is known to jump right in to render exquisite care to all in need. She is available when staff are overwhelmed, and seamlessly manages issues she encounters. She is a true hero!"

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?

She's committed to the Northwell Health motto, "We've got this!"
