NY 10th Assembly District: Steve Stern Looks To Fend Off Aamir Sultan
Stern, a Democrat, is looking to win his fourth election to the NYS Assembly's 10th District.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Assemblyman Steve Stern (D—Melville) will look to win his fourth election to the New York State 10th Assembly District since 2018. His challenger this year is Republican Aamir Sultan. The two will vie for Stern's seat on Nov. 8.
The candidates:
- Steve Stern (Incumbent, Democrat)
- Aamir Sultan (Republican)
Stern first won election to the state assembly in a special election in April 2018 when he defeated Janet Smitelli. Stern replaced Chad Lupinacci, who resigned from the state assembly to become the Town of Huntington supervisor, according to Ballotpedia. This marked a transition from Republican to Democrat in the state's 10th Assembly District, as Lupinacci had held the seat for years.
