Overnight Closure Coming To Long Island Expressway In Town Of Huntington

Crews will be working on a bridge deck renewal project.

HUNTINGTON, NY — An overnight closure on the westbound Long Island Expressway in the Town of Huntington is scheduled for Friday night into Saturday morning, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.

The expressway will be closed at Exit 49N (State Route 110) between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday as crews work on a bridge deck renewal project at the Round Swamp Road bridge. All traffic will be detoured onto the North Service Road. Workers will be installing a new traffic pattern, so motorists are advised to watch all signs and electronic message boards.

Electronic message signs near the project sites will display updated closure information.
