Overnight Closures Coming To Northern State Parkway Across 2 Long Island Townships

LONG ISLAND, NY — Closures on the Northern State Parkway are scheduled for this week across the towns of Oyster Bay and Huntington, the New York State Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.
The closures are targeted for the stretch of the parkway between exit 38 (Sunnyside Boulevard) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, and exit 40 (State Route 110) in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, weather permitting, to facilitate pavement repairs. Below are details, provided by the department:
- On Tuesday, Dec. 3, all westbound lanes will be closed at exit 40 beginning at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday. Vehicles will be detoured onto southbound State Route 110 to the westbound Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) to exit 46 for northbound Sunnyside Boulevard to return to the Northern State Parkway.
- On Thursday, Dec. 5, all eastbound lanes will be closed at exit 38 beginning at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Vehicles will be detoured onto southbound Sunnyside Boulevard to the eastbound Long Island Expressway to exit 49N for northbound State Route 110 to return to the Northern State Parkway.
