Overnight Closures Coming To Town Of Huntington

Pavement resurfacing is scheduled for a stretch of an L.I.E. service road and State Route 231. Here's what drivers should know.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Overnight closures are slated for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in the Town of Huntington, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.

Closures are expected to be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the intersection of the Long Island Expressway North Service Road and State Route 231 (Deer Park Avenue) in the Town of Huntington for pavement resurfacing, weather permitting. The expected closures are:

  • The North Service Road will be closed at Candlewood Path. Traffic will be detoured northbound on Candlewood Path to westbound Talisman Drive for approximately a half mile to State Route 231.
  • One lane in both directions of State Route 231 will be closed.
  • The Exit 51 ramp from the westbound Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) will be closed during this time. Motorists should proceed westbound to Exit 50 towards Bagatelle Road southbound to the eastbound Long Island Expressway to Exit 51.
