Overnight Closures Looming For Northern State Parkway In Huntington

A pavement resurfacing project is coming to the parkway. See when the closures are due.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Closures are coming to the westbound Northern State Parkway in the Town of Huntington, the New York State Department of Transportation announced Thursday.

The overnight closures for the parkway, between Exit 42 (State Route 231/Deer Park Road) and Exit 40 (State Route 110), are set to start Monday from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. and will last approximately three weeks, weather permitting, for a pavement resurfacing project.

Electronic message signs near the project sites will display updated closure information.

Motorists were urged by the department to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of one's driver's license.
