Overpopulation of turtles threatens all bird and fish life at Heckscher Park Pond, Huntington
Cygnets, baby swans, do not have a chance against this army of aggressive turtles which keeps growing!
Heckscher Park Pond is becoming "Turtle Park Pond." The overpopulation of aggressive turtles, who are hungry, aggressive and multiplying at alarming rates is threatening all bird and animal life at Heckscher Park Pond. What is the Town of Huntington doing about this? Are we simply going to let the turtles take over and multiply into the thousands? Something must be done to remove the turtles so other animals can thrive. I am a life long Huntington resident and have watched this slaughter of cygnets long enough! THE TOWN SHOULD ACT AND REMOVE THE TURTLES or we will have nothing left but Canada geese and turtles.
