Police Seek Whitman Shops Department Store Thief

Police are looking to identify the man who stole merchandise from a Whitman Shops department store earlier this month.

According to authorities, the man entered Macy’s, located at 160 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, and hid the merchandise in a shopping bag on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. The man, who is wanted for petty larceny, fled the scene after being confronted by security, police say.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
