What makes me happy is seeing the impact of the work I do with my fellow Town Board members — whether it’s restoring one of our town’s historic cemeteries, improving safety in our neighborhoods, or creating spaces where families can come together. Knowing that our efforts are making Huntington a better place to live brings me a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.

On a personal level, my greatest happiness comes from time spent with family and close friends. Watching my grown children find their own place in the world, build their lives and contribute to their communities fills me with pride. Whether it’s sharing a meal together, having a conversation about their next steps or just enjoying each other’s company, those moments mean everything to me. They remind me why I chose to do this work — to help build a town where families are supported, where community matters and where future generations feel proud to call Huntington home.

Why does this mean so much to you?

Because at the end of the day, everything we do — whether in government, in our careers or in our personal lives — should be about building something good that lasts beyond us.

How has this made a difference in your 2025?

2025 has made very clear just how essential it is that we come together, not just in moments of celebration, but in the everyday work of being a community. This year has reminded us that everyone is going through something, often quietly, and that listening, volunteering, and showing up for one another matters. These are things we should all agree upon. We all have different thoughts and ideas, but there are fundamental aspects of being human, not subjective points of view. My grandfather always said, common sense.

We’ve seen that when people feel seen, heard, and supported, it strengthens the whole fabric of our town, we are stronger united. Whether it’s lending a hand at a local cleanup, checking in on a neighbor, or just being present in conversations that matter, those actions create trust and connection. 2025 has underscored the power of unity, empathy, and staying engaged as people who care about where we live and who we share it with. We’re preparing for a historic milestone in 2026, it's up to all of us to build a stronger, more unified community — one that honors the sacrifices of the past and thoughtfully invests in the future.

What do you wish others knew about what you’re thankful for?

I wish more people knew how truly thankful I am for the simple things — the things we sometimes take for granted. A safe place to call home. Food on the table. Good health. People in your life who care. The ability to wake up and feel connected to a purpose. These are the basics every human being deserves, and they’re what I never stop being grateful for. In public service, you meet people from all walks of life and realize many are struggling. It reminds you that progress isn’t just about big projects or policies — it’s about making sure people have what they need to live with dignity. So when I say I’m thankful, I mean it deeply. Not just for what I have, but for every opportunity to help ensure someone else can experience those same blessings.
