'Sweet, Gentle' Babe: Huntington Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Babe, a 1-year-old dark tiger, is the mother of last week's All-Star kittens. "Batter up - Babe is waiting to steal your heart!"

HUNTINGTON, NY — Babe, a 1-year-old dark tiger, is the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pet of the Week.
Babe is the "all-star mama cat looking for her forever home," according to Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter.
"Opening Day at Duck Stadium is always full of excitement, but this year it brought more than just baseball magic — it brought Babe, a brave and loving mama cat who gave birth to four beautiful kittens under the bleachers," Larkin said. "Named after the legendary Babe Ruth, this feline MVP knocked it out of the park with her courage and heart."

All of her babies (Shortstop, Striker, Rookie & Diamond) will be entering the shelter in July, just in time for its adoption event on July 12, according to Larkin.
"She will not be in the same room as her team, but we are hoping that she hits it out of the park with
her gentle nature and finds her people to go home with," Larkin said.

Babe has eyes the color of green sea glass. She is now ready to "hang up her cleats and find a forever home where she can be the star she was always meant to be," Larkin said.
"This gorgeous girl is the full package: sweet, gentle, and affectionate," she said. "Babe loves a good scratch behind the ears and on the head, and won’t hesitate to let you know how much she appreciates a cozy lap or a soft blanket."
Babe is "all in" during meal time.
"You’ll see her perk right up at the sound of kibble in her bowl; it’s like her personal seventh inning stretch!" Larkin said.
When she’s not playing with her kittens or batting at her favorite toys, Babe enjoys the quieter things in life, Larkin noted.
"She’ll often pick a sunny spot to lounge in and watch the world go by, like a wise coach surveying the field," Larkin said. "Babe has done an incredible job raising her little team, and now it’s her time to shine. She will be coming out of foster care this week and ready to go into one of our free roaming
rooms."

She has tested negative for FELV and FIV, negative for parasites, had her ears, eyes and heart checked, is litter box trained and has been spayed.
"She is ready to join your home as your new best friend."
