Town Of Huntington Supervisor Primaries: Preview

Edmund Smyth, the incumbent supervisor, is facing challenges on two party lines. Two candidates are also vying for Working Parties position.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Town of Huntington residents are set to head to the polls June 24, where one of the primary races they will decide on is the town's supervisor position.

There are three primary races for the position being held: Republican, Conservative, and Working Families.

Supervisor Edmund Smyth, the incumbent, is a candidate on two party lines: Republican and Conservative. He is facing two different challengers.

Republican

  • Edmund J. Smyth vs. Brooke A. Lupinacci

Conservative

  • Edmund J. Smyth vs. Dominic Spada

Working Families

  • Cooper Macco vs. Maria Delgado

Smyth was elected Town of Huntington supervisor for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2022. His term is set to expire at the end of 2025.

Lupinacci currently serves as a Town of Huntington councilwoman. She is not related to former Huntington Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci.

Spada is the town’s former maritime director.

Macco is a lifelong Town of Huntington resident who works as a bankruptcy attorney. Delgado is challenging him on the Working Families Party line. Macco is the only listed Democratic Party candidate on the Suffolk County Democrats website.
