The six students were selected for the prestigious 2021 Boys and Girls State Government Delegates Program.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY —Six Walt Whitman High School students were commended recently for completing the selective 2021 Boys and Girls State Government Delegates Program.
Owen Connolly, Jordan Henkel, Kevin Rankel and Liam Villanti were honored at a ceremony at the Greenlawn American Legion Post last Thursday. Kristy Chillemi and Alyssa Katwala will be honored in September.
The program dates back to 1937 and is a week-long immersion into government, community and civic education. The student delegates created a mock government, holding legislative session and court virtually.
