WellLife Volunteers Fill Shelves At Huntington Food Pantry Ahead Of Holidays
Staff and volunteers packed shelves as the nonprofit launched its year-end campaign to support nutrition programs.
HUNTINGTON, NY — WellLife Network staff and volunteers gathered at the organization’s Huntington location this week for a major food pantry restock and community discussion centered on the growing issue of food insecurity across Long Island.
WellLife Network is a nonprofit organization on Long Island and in New York City that provides health and human services. The event marked the launch of WellLife’s year-end fundraising campaign, aimed at filling pantry shelves and sustaining the nonprofit’s nutrition assistance programs heading into the holiday season.
The organization operates multiple pantries and provides direct support to individuals living with behavioral health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and co-occurring substance use disorders — populations especially vulnerable to food insecurity, staff said.

Staff teams spent the day sorting canned goods, stocking shelves, organizing donations, and preparing pantry staples for community members. The Huntington site was bustling on Tuesday as volunteers filled shopping bags and organized newly delivered items, from boxed staples to fresh essentials.
WellLife’s leaders said the restock is part of a broader holiday push to raise awareness and encourage donations. With Giving Tuesday approaching, the nonprofit hopes to rally support to help families who rely on its pantries.
