Coastal Flood Alert, Up to 6 Inches, Issued For Long Island
Nassau and Suffolk counties can expect coastal flooding.
LONG ISLAND, NY — A coastal flood statement is in effect for Long Island on Monday night.
The National Weather Service announced that from about 10 p.m. on Monday through 2 a.m. on Tuesday, northern Nassau, northwest, and southwest Suffolk Counties will possibly receive a brief minor flooding of to six inches.
The effect was also issued for the Bronx and Queens.

Motorists are advised to not drive through flooded roadways.
In addition, Long Islanders can expect a consistent low 70s this week, for the first week of June.

Here's the full week's forecast from the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. West wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northwest wind around 11 mph.
Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
