Some of the stronger storms could produce hail and strong wind gusts, the National Weather Service said.
LONG ISLAND, NY — With widespread showers and some thunderstorms expected Wednesday, the National Weather Service has issued hazardous outlooks for most of the region.
For Suffolk and northern Nassau counties, the NWS warned that some of the stronger storms could produce hail and strong wind gusts, especially for areas south and east of Albany.
The Storm Prediction Center placed the counties in a "marginal risk of severe weather" for Wednesday, with potential hazards including strong to damaging winds and hail.

As the storms and downpours roll in, temperatures may drop 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit in a few minutes after being in the 70s when the sun was out, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.
Also, flash flooding could occur in urban areas thanks to slow-moving downpours, he said.
